Practicum in Color

One day course in the theory and practice of choosing striking, unusual colors and fabrics for your quilts.  The limited course size (five) will allow each participant the opportunity to practice Misty's techniques for choosing fabrics for their own, as well as the other participants, quilts.

Do you:

Have a pattern you want to do, but can't decide what fabrics to use?

Have a fabric you love, but not sure what fabrics would work with it?

Have a pattern and a focal fabric, but not sure what other fabrics to use?

Participants will each bring one of the above to practice pulling together a quilt using Misty's techniques for choosing unusual color and pattern combinations. 

The course will begin with discussions of ways that Misty looks at color and fabric choices.  The focus will then shift to actually pulling together a quilt from the examples each participant brings. Participant's will not only learn from their own project, but will be encouraged to get involved in helping each other with their projects.

The course begins at 10am and wraps-up at 3:30pm, with a break for lunch (bring your own or grab something at one of the fabulous restaurants Albany has to offer).

Participants need to bring a project they would like to pull together.  If you lean towards more subdued and woodsy colored fabrics, it will be hard to pull together a quilt because the studio primarily carries bright, clear colored fabrics.

Participants will receive a 10% discount for all retail items purchased the day of the course.

Cancellation policy:  Because of the nature of this course, a minimum of three (3) participants is required.  You may cancel up to one week prior to the day of the course to allow us to fill your seat.  After that time, you may transfer your seat to someone else, but we cannot transfer you to another course offering at a later time.
